HFF Picks for NFL Sunday

January 17, 2010

Well we know at this point that New Orleans and Indianapolis are on their way to their respective conference championships but their opponents are to be decided today. Hmm. . my picks thus are, let me see, Vikings and Jets! Yes, I’ll go against the grain and go with these two!! I’m a big Eagles fan so naturally Dallas is a hard sell, Polynesian Naufahu Tahi and I love Brett Favre.

NY Jets, obviously because UH Warrior Football assistant coach, Rich Miano, played for the Jets & Eagles but we have UH Alum #78 Wayne Hunter and fellow Polynesians, #91 Sione Pouha & #79 Ropati Pitoitua on the Jets squad.

Alright then, Go Vikings! and Go Jets!

Mele Kalikimaka!, Philadelphia Eagles & Jordan Norwood

December 25, 2009
During the Christmas break, I'll be away with family and friends. Thus, I wanted to wish all Hawai'i Football Fanatics readers, on both the blog and facebook fan page, a Mele Kalikimaka! I'll attempt to post whenever possible and I'll be on my weekly schedule thereafter.

Also my favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, play the Denver Broncos this weekend. Besides, Polynesian Fenuki Tupou (injured reserved), I'm not sure if a lot of people know another island connection with Jordan Norwood (Hawai'i-born and 2008 Penn State graduate) who is a wide receiver for the Eagles (practice squad). He is the son of former Radford High alumnus and UH cornerback/safety, Brian Norwood, who is currently the defensive coordinator for Baylor University.

Go Eagles!!!

The Big Kehaka (Badger)! UH Gameday: Wisconsin Badgers

December 5, 2009

Ok, this is the big game! The Big Kehaka (Badger) as I call it! The game that will decide the post-season for the Hawai'i Warriors! and a chance to woop Junes Jones' butt on Christmas Eve in the Hawai'i Bowl! LOL! But that'll be all moot, if we don't win this one. I wish I was in Honolulu but earlier obligations have priority and I'll have to suffice with watching it away on TV tonight.

I know, I know, Donovan Raiola (Chicago Bears), was a Kehaka but he was also a Kamehameha Warrior. So that makes it all "G" for me! Speaking of which, Ho'omaika'i Warriors!! on the win last night over Kahuku! Both teams played great football! I only hope that both their mana (power) will carry over to the UH Warriors and get that Kehaka off their back!

I'll try to update the game via the  Hawai'i Football Fanatics Facebook Fan page and/or Twitter (@aweau). Hawai'i Football Fanatics will also continue to support University of Hawai'i Warrior Football (@hawaiiathletics) by providing today's gameday information through fellow blogger, TomboAhi's blog (@tomboahi). See his links to live Warriors game action on television, internet and radio. He also has a pre-game analysis on his web site. Gametime is at 6:30p HST. The game is also being televised at 8:30 PM PST in Portland (ESPN2 36) and Seattle (ESPN2 32)

Imua Warriors! and spear the heck out of the Badgers like this mean buggah!!

Breaking News! From Fellow Blogger Tomboahi

HFF Monday Night Football: New England Patriots @ New Orleans Saints

November 30, 2009

Phew! I'm not taking any favorites on this one as I have much respect for both quarterbacks. Drew Brees is on fire and Tom Brady has greatly improved to be his old self in the last several games. Ex-Warrior, Jake Ingram, is gaining confidence in his longsnapper role for the Patriots. Not much to say but good luck to both teams as they vie for a playoff spot.

Hoka! (Too Bad!) New Orleans has no islanders/Polynesians/ex-Warriors!! The closest connection would be #55 Scott Fujita OLB, who was adopted by a Japanese family.

Game on: 3:30 PM HST (ESPN22)

E Kala Mai! (Sorry!) Power Outage!

November 29, 2009

I apologize to all Hawai'i Football Fanatics readers. Got up late from the Warriors victory over Navy and wasn't able to post till later due to family obligations. Came home and found out there was a power outage in our area. Darn, I'll attempt to at least get in tomorrow's game later tonight as soon as the power returns.

Don't forget to watch tonight's game with the Steelers visiting Baltimore in Raven land.

Thanks for your patience!
